Teresa & Pete were married in Kingscliff NSW. It was raining from the very start of the day; not pouring-umbrella rain, just that annoying rain that leaves their mark on Pete’s suit while we’re out taking photos in the morning or that almost-certain-to-frizz the brides hair in the afternoon. Stupid rain. No, I didn’t mean that, I love rain; and it didn’t stop the love between these two beautiful people either.
The original plan was for Teresa & Pete to marry down on the shore, but, as it had been raining for the past week and the east coast had experienced gale force winds within that time, the water was full of dirt, foam and debris. So they moved the ceremony to Kingscliff Community Hall – the cutest little hall smack bang in the middle of the sleepy little beach town. The light was beautiful inside which Matt and I were pretty stoked about, and with some tears, love and laughter (and probably the quickest ceremony I’ve ever seen); Teresa and Pete were now Mr & Mrs!
We headed over to their reception venue Babalou for the location photos before the guests arrived for the celebration. Teresa had already organised it as she knew the weather wasn’t going to be picture perfect (she’s a good girl) and we were so happy to shoot in this funky little restaurant – beautiful details and antiques all round.
And so begun the reception celebrations and the flow of Moet and food, tapas and lollies. While the guests were clicking away with the guest-book polaroid camera to add their personal touch to the couples’ guest book, speeches and dancing… the rain continued to fall.
A big shout out to Alstonville Florist who provided the stunning bouquets, buttonholes, corsages and table centrepieces throughout the day. Their arrangements are amazing and are second to none. So amazing that The Arched Window and Alstonville Florist got together for a shoot a few weeks later. More of that later..
For now, here is Teresa and Pete’s happy day:
